Megan's Story

Megan was diagnosed with a life threatening peanut allergy at one year of age after experiencing an anaphylactic reaction from ingesting peanut. Megan experienced many anaphylactic reactions from peanut. In addition to peanut, Megan also anaphylactic to egg and tree nuts. She is also allergic to a handful of other foods, along with having Celiac Disease. We lived in fear each and every day. When Megan was 5 years old she qualified to go through desensitization. Desensitization changed Megan's life. At 9 years of age we got the news that Megan has EoE. Would I change our decision about peanut desensitization, no. Our bodies are complex and medicine cannot always fix what our bodies are wired to be.
